Business targets.
A lot of cmpanies give themselves weekly or monthly targets, and no matter how small a business, or how new, nothing stops you from writing a weeks target. For instance, write, this weeks proffit target is £800, underneath it write the amount you (truthfully) made within that week. Then look at where you could have pushed harder, what you could have done to increase your sales, and think about other methods to bring in the spending customers...whether a free gift, 10% off for a week, there are so many incentives that can be offered to customers, and your incentive is to reach or completely overtake the weeks target. But, the following week, even if you made £5000 over your target, think realistically about your next target, if you say 'oh we will put it at £6000...then miss it by £3000 (Ive done it...its horrid) but the amount you took was good, you will dishearten yourself when in actual fact it should be a pat on the back.
Targets are a great mootivational tool.
